For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. – Psalm 91:11-12
DAY 31: “Angels Watching Over Us”
These are days where fear seems to be lurking behind every headline. COVID-19 threatens not only our health and the health of our loved ones, but the livelihoods of so many. However, we can’t lose sight of our God who is all-powerful, all-knowing, and rich in love. He will never ever fail us.
In Daniel 7, we read about Daniel’s vision in which He sees God seated on His throne being ministered to by 1 million angels serving Him and 100 million standing before Him. God dispatched angels to minister to Jesus during the 40 days when He was tempted by Satan. He sent angels to shut the lions’ mouths for Daniel, to break the prison chains for Peter, and to encourage Paul not to fear when standing before Caesar. At His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus could have appealed to His Father, and immediately angels would have been sent. In Hebrews 13, we are instructed not to forget to entertain strangers, as we unwittingly might be entertaining angels. It is comforting to know God gives His angels charge over us and is able to dispatch countless numbers of angels to surround America with a shield of protection.
Pray that the Lord of Hosts will send His angels to protect each of us and to dispatch angels to encircle America, fight the spiritual forces of wickedness, and thwart the fiery darts of the enemy.
